Fresh Water is a compilation series we launched earlier this year to mark 5 years of our label. We wanted to put out more music between our full-length releases without worrying too much about traditional release formats or the ancillary work that goes with it.

Some of the songs that make up the compilation are indicators for the tangents our artists are on, others are one-off experiments, sketches and some leftovers from the back catalogue.

Volume 2 (out on 18th June) features music by label mainstays Aniruddh Menon and Disco Puppet alongside new recruits K.O.K.O and Badie_a.

About the artists:

K.O.K.O. is the solo project of Gurgaon-based electronic musician, vocalist and producer Anukool Raman. He is also known for his work with Signal W.

Aniruddh Menon makes music out of Bengaluru, working with a lot of extensively warped samples and low end drenched hip hop beats.

Badie_a (Aditya Bharadwaj) is a visual artist and designer based in Bengaluru. He’s been a behind-the-scenes participant in Consolidate activities for the past few years. You might have seen him play the bird in Disco Puppet’s production of Aranyer Din Ratri, or seen him at one of our live shows, adding to the chaos.

Disco Puppet aka Shoumik Biswas is a musician and visual artist. His sound is characterised by its irreverence towards the stylistic and procedural dictates of genres and their purists. This stems partly from ideology, but mostly from a tendency to get easily bored.
